Service

Schenectady Inner City Ministry (SICM)
 
The first Sunday of each month is SICM food pantry Sunday and members bring food items and checks to support the Schenectady SICM food pantry.
Thrivent Habitat Build 
Work days are Wednesdays and Saturdays thru October. Please schedule your selected dates with Dawn Mengel at the Thrivent office by phone at 453-3500 or by e-mail at dawn.mengel@thrivent.com. The home we are building this year will be a “green” home. This means energy efficient and environmentally sustainable building practices will be used. Homes built using green building techniques are healthier, conserve natural resources, are more energy efficient, and are more durable.
Bethesda House Homeless Shelter 
We make 150 sandwiches after church on Sunday.
Salvation Army Soup Kitchen 
Grace Lutheran Church has committed to serve lunches at the Salvation Army in downtown Schenectady five times in the coming year.
Home Furnishings Program 
NEEDS OF THE MONTH: Drinking glasses, especially glass, and good quality smaller plastic glasses for children Pots and good-sized frying pans Cutlery: especially forks, also knives and tea and soup spoons Toasters And, as always, BEDS! and queen sheets. Bread For the World 
We write letters to our members of Congress to urge them to support changes to U.S. policy that will benefit people in poverty here and abroad.

The annual Crop Walk took place on Sunday, May 2nd.
